Airports

Linate Airport – it is only 7 km away from the city centre and is linked with San Babila Square, right in the city centre, by bus n.73 that runs every ten minutes from 6am to midnight.
Other options to get to the centre from the airport are by taxi, which are meter operated or by hiring a car. There are plenty of car hire companies to choose from.

Malpensa Airport - Malpensa airport is the main international airport in Milan. It lies at about 40 kilometres from the city centre. It consists of two different terminals (terminal 1 and 2) linked by a shuttle bus. Thus upon arrival and departure check which terminal you will be landing at or taking off.
From Malpensa airport there are various ways to reach the city centre:

Malpensa Express is a new railway link connecting the Airport with Cordona railway station, which is only a few underground stops away from Duomo Square. This service in not available at night between 1.30 and 6am.

Malpensa Shuttle is a bus connection between the airport and Milan’s Central Railway Station. The journey takes less than an hour runs every 20 minutes.

Taxi Service is always available and is certainly the fastest way to move around the city as taxis may drive on reserved lanes. The fare includes a fix rate of €2.58 plus 0.65 € for each kilometre or €20.66 for each hour. Night service implies an additional fee of €3.10.
The two airports are linked by a Shuttle service that runs all day long every 30 minutes. The transfer lasts slightly over one hour and the fare is €8.
The transfer is also possible by taxi, which is undoubtedly the most comfortable option although it may be more expensive

By Train

Stazione Centrale, Central Railway Station, is the main railway junction in Lombardy. It lies at short distance from the city centre and is very well served by two underground lines and a considerable number of trams and buses.
Once arrived at Stazione Centrale, Central Railway Station, you are very close to the very heart of Milan: Duomo square. Here you may choose the following means of transport:
Underground: the Stazione Centrale is served by two lines, the yellow line or line 3 that goes directly to Duomo Underground Station and the green line, also known as line 2.
Taxi service is always available day and night at taxi ranks just outside the station or by calling 028585, 028383 or 024040.
Lambrate Station is another important international railway station in Milan and provides a remarkable number of railway connections with Switzerland.
Lambrate Station is served by the green underground or line 2 also stopping by the other railway stations Cadorna, Centrale and Garibaldi.
Taxis, trams and buses are available such as bus 54 connecting Lambrate Station to Piazza S. Babila, a beautiful square near the Duomo.
